Soft flour tortillas recipe

Flour tortillas are a versatile and delicious staple in many cuisines, perfect for tacos, burritos, or wraps. Made with simple ingredients—flour, water, salt, and fat—they’re easy to prepare at home.

Ingredients

  • 500g wheat flour
  • 100g butter
  • 200ml water
  • 5g baking powder
  • 10g salt

Directions

  1. Put all ingredient except water into bowl and mix them
  2. Pour 200ml of hot water into the bowl and kneed the dough until nice smooth consistency
  3. Divide the dough into 12 pieces, leave them to rest for 20 minutes
  4. Flatten out the dough thin using rolling pin
  5. Fry the tortilla on an ungreased skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side
  6. Cover the tortillas with a cloth when they come off the skillet.
